Well!! What I hadn't realised is that Brian had exercised his right to remove something that he thought was offensive , I thought at first that [removed, brian] was just a joke on jouell's part, I still think removal was an over reaction as the phrase is a common colloquialism in Wigan, I for one have heard it many a time but everyone to their own opinion!

Erm! This is a bit tricky, as it involves animal husbandry and the breeding of sheep.

Emmerdale farm stuff I suppose, so here goes:

A tup is a male sheep. This noun lends itself to a verb.

Ewes that have successfully mated have a mark on their backs left by a a device fixed to a tup's belly.

This then lets a farmer know at a glance which ewes have, or haven't met the tup.
